I also drained some water then flushed a lot. I keep flushing the tank through a short piece of hose every week or so and the water out looks pretty clean now so Ill only do it once every six months or so to keep it clean. I havent opened the valve yet out of curiosity but from what I read here, the Capacitor sounds like a good culprit. Looking at the V of the Valve body pins, the left top pin is the pilot valve.
